Obviously I find inspiration in nature and in hand-crafted things. Maybe it goes without saying, but I’ve also been inspired by other artists and designers; some of whom are friends, others I’ve admired from afar. I’ve been fortunate to be inspired by many of my teachers, both in the arts and other fields.
I think one of the best qualities of an designer or artist is having an open mind. It gives a different perspective. Personally, it allows me to find inspiration in all kinds of unexpected places: from the architectural design of an old building, to a science lecture or even the random encounter on the street. I never know the exact combination that will spark my imagination, so I keep alert to the world that surrounds me. Here are a few design related links that keep my mind thinking and coming up with fresh ideas. My gratitude and appreciation goes out to those who are willing to share their thoughts and passion:
- TED Videos from Technology, Entertainment, Design...and beyond.
- Smashing Magazine From code to typography and everything in between, quick an informative way to keep up to date in the world of design.
